The project takes into account areas and parts of the human body and surrounding nature that are ever present but mostly ignored, forgotten, or taken for granted. A classic canvas is used to bring a visual expectation for the work. The project is meant to encourage the viewers to scan their body and surroundings for long-ignored or forgotten areas, without an explicit visual representation on the wall. Mindfulness is sought to be achieved — a revival of an absent presence, a mental image.
A story is composed by reading the gallery from left to right. An interactive piece is also imagined in the middle of the space where the viewers are able to write an answer on a small white paper to the following question: “What is one area of your body that you have ignored, forgotten, or taken for granted for a long time, up until reading this question now?” The unfolded answers are collected in a transparent plastic box on a black pedestal.
